(on Johnson Creek) Located in SE 1/4 SW 1/4 Sec. 21, T-9-S, R-6-W, Panola County, Miss. on land of Shuford Norwood.
Original recorded bearing S 38° 15' W. Resurveyed on magnetic bearing S 33° W to avoid local gullies (not recorded on original profile which had most points at even 20 ft. intervals). In order to provide a more representative line for future comparisons the new line was run on supposed magnetic bearing S 33° 30' W, but that was later found to be in error, apparently because of compass deflection by wire fence at pipe L-1-R.
Original pipe L-1-L apparently had been destroyed by removal of 6 foot nose of hill, presumably incidental to highway grading and perhaps straightening.
