Located in W 1/2 SE 1/4 Sec. 8, and extending into NE 1/4 SW 1/4, T-10-S, R-8-W, Panola County, Miss. on land of J.H. Piggott (left end) and Tatum heirs worked by Walter Sullivant.
Right pipe not found but presumably was originally near a 36 inch water oak on an E-W fence line, but described in 1940 as a 16 inch red oak.
Line reestablished from left pipe on magnetic bearing N 38° 38' W (based on azimuth increase of 1° 20' as found at range L-4) from 1940 recorded bearing of S 35° E from right to left.
Believe new line is about 12' (0° 15') east of original line at right end, but this deviation not enough to invalidate comparison with original 1940 profile, hence not worth while to resurvey on corrected line.
Sketch of Range L-3.
